Every so often , there are stories from Oppo and other Kinja sites I’d like to share with my sons. Crap like this pretty much rules that out.

Yeah I try not to pay too much attention to the low quality content over there that makes an hour rule look like it deserves a pulitzer prize.

Saw that and thought “They must pay a freelance at 5$ per story and not even give a fuck about even trying to have nice/funny title for those ”.

It's not even remotely funny or creative. It's just lewd. That's to be expected from the onion but I wish they wouldn't cross promote their stuff so often.

Might be a good conversation starter as to why you should never skip leg day. Onion articles are probably much tamer than the stuff your teenage sons find on the internet, so I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

It’s not that I’m trying to keep them from anything sexual, that’s impossible. It’s just unfortunate that they put such things all across their sites.

Maybe, but  Sears catalogues aren’t blatantly sexual. I’m not a prude by any means, but there’s a time and a place, and putting this content all over their sites makes it difficult to view car content or lifehacker content or whatever in places where you don’t want to have pictures of lap dances.

I get Onion articles from 2015. I dont even know why The Onion still exists. It’s a waste of time and boring. Also we are living in the Onion satirical existence right now.

You see, The Onion’s purpose is to try and fail at making a decent parody of real life, and in doing so produces fake articles portraying a reality slightly less bonkers than the one we live in, and one that is at least trying to be funny.

Man, as a kid just trying to understand these u rges, the Sears catalouge was all I had. Pervs  had already torn the good pages out of the bio books at the library.

I’m wondering wtf is going on.

Yesterday, my FaceSpace feed had a vid ad for some heat massage thing and in the thumbnail the chick was sitting on the floor and had it [ suggestively] on her inner thigh... Then we have the vibrator ads on G/O. This shit.

The kicker being the world up in arms about that Netflix release Cuties which filmed children 11-13yo doing erotic dances like some pedo heaven. Contrary to the media saying it’s a right wing outrage; people of all political compass vectors think it’s wrong.

Is this going to be “ normal” by the time I have tweens? Inch to Mile ?

What I read about the Cuties thing is that the film is really about NOT sexualizing young girls, but the poster that Netflix released for the American audience does exactly that. Vox has a good article about the film and the manufactured outrage surrounding it.

Go on Reddit, Twitter, YouTube; the vast majority of personal content is united in belief this film should not have been green lit, or even made. It does show 11-13yo girls sexualized by explicit dances , taking a picture of their lower bits, playing with condoms and other scenes . This is not campaign the media can polarize , this is a complete landslide of people both outspoken and silent saying that a societal line was crossed with liberals   taking equal and like issue with it as conservatives.

T he media is on the wrong side of greater public opinion on this one. It should be a real wake up call for them.

How many of those people have actually seen the film?

There’s no way of me confirming who watched the entirety but I’d say a good portion of the YouTubers genuinely did for the clout. Many include short clips which are enough to make people creeped out.

I’m not a sensitive person with regards movies. I don’t care if someone +18 did the same moves, but with these kids? I do. The media and the other few weirdos aren’t   going to convince me that a film with sexualized minors is an appropriate form of artistic PSA.

I think it’s knowing that there are people that actually enjoy and get off looking at minors (and likely to scenes in this movie) . Also thos e seriously messed up in the head that go the step further and actually engage or attempt to with children .

I usually like to find something to disagree with an internet mob but this is genuinely bad vibes, I can’t even devils advocate.
